Finally made it to Tim Burton @ MoMa! Ever since missing the chance to spy Daniel Radcliffe in his birthday suit on Broadway, I've become even more kiasu. I knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to come vis-à-vis with Burton's less-known works, so I kept a hawk's eye on ticket availability online. Weekends kept selling out like hot cakes, so I finally reserved 'timed-entrance' tickets for a Wednesday. Sayang & I rushed to the city after classes. I genuinely want to petition against early museum closing hours in New York! Geram betul... It was well worth it though ^.^ Jim & I particularly enjoyed seeing Burton's early sketches; notebook pages filled with the artist's doodles were actually put on display! It's cool how his dark sense of humor was prevalent even in his teens. I also loved his drawings based on verbal puns, cause I heart grammar. Sowee, no pics to share, as photography wasn't allowed.

Took the above picture of 'The Artist Is Present' against museum rules. In my defense, I wasn't aware! It's confusing how particular exhibits are camera-friendly while others aren't. 64-year old Maria Abramovic looks much younger than I expected. Learn more about Abramovic's feat here. Or here's the short of it: For several months on end, Abramovic will sit still at a table in the MoMa, without saying a word. Performance art is so strange!

What I like about chess is the intensity.

Molasses and honey; little jar steadily getting shallower; into my mouth by way of loving tongue.

I'm such a dunker that in little time, cookie crumbs litter the bottom of the cold pool in my teacup.

How many boyfriends will...

do their homework with one arm encircling your waist, the other scribbling away furiously;

drop by the office with gifts of pink-themed foods - watermelon & a scone-like-pastry splattered and spattered with pink icing;

read to you in bed?
